  1. Contact the Internship Coordinator (Alan Brandyberry) by e-mail, abrandyb@kent.edu, (preferred over a phone call) or phone (330) 672-1146. Send him a copy of the internship data sheet as a Word attachment to an e-mail.
  2. Dr. Brandyberry may contact your present or prospective employer. Once Dr. Brandyberry has approved the internship for credit, he will inform Marnie Sanders (College of Business Undergraduate Programs Office, Room 107 BSA) that you have permission to register for the course M&IS 44292, CIS Internship.
  3. Generally, Marnie Sanders will register you for the course and notify you by email.  Otherwise, register for the course (it's three credit hours) just as you would for a normal course. M&IS 44292 counts as a CIS elective course.  If you're not sure you're in the course, check your online schedule.
  4. There are no regular class meetings, but watch your e-mail for news from Alan Brandyberry about the course.
  5. The course is evaluated with a letter grade which is based on a written job report and an oral presentation. Click on the link following for details on these course requirements.
  6. When you have finished your written job report and/or the PowerPoint presentation, forward them electronically to Alan Brandyberry as explained in the course requirements directions. You must complete the course requirements before final exam week of the semester in which you registered for M&IS 44292!
  7. When you are ready to do your presentation, attempt to schedule it with one of your IS professors. If you can't get a commitment from one of them, inform Alan Brandyberry right away that you're ready, and what times/dates you will be available to do the presentation over the next three weeks or so, and we will try to find a suitable opportunity.

  8. Give the presentation on the date negotiated with the instructor of the class or Alan Brandyberry. Your grade will be turned in for processing at the end of the semester.
